Agricultural Credit Project

The objective of the project was to increase the incomes of poor small-scale farmers and strengthen farmers’ groups, cooperatives and associations by providing them with credit. Access to credit enabled the farmers and their association to invest in inputs, draught animals, machinery and vehicles, and other improvements in order to increase their productivity and production. This was the first of IFAD’s projects in Panama, and it was expanded in a second phase.
