Qinling Mountain Area Poverty Alleviation Project

This six-year project was designed to ensure food and income security for vulnerable poor people living in mountainous areas with limited and degraded natural resources. The project works with 128 of the poorest townships in north-western Hubei province and south-western Shaanxi province. Typically, farms are extremely small and produce solely for subsistence. The project's aims are to strengthen microcredit and other financial services in the area and to help poor people gain access to these services in order to begin producing cash crops and other income-generating activities.
