IFAD partners in Tanzania IFAD has developed a wide range of partnerships over the years in Tanzania, working with government agencies, other donors, United Nations agencies, civil society organizations and the private sector. Considering IFAD's ambitious mandate and limited resources, partnerships are essential to the successful implementation of many of the organization’s strategic objectives. The Tanzanian Government, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, members of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research and IFAD regional grant projects are likely to provide assistance in improving access to technology and services in rural areas. Financial institutions such as Rabobank Nederland and Opportunities International and other donor-assisted projects, including the Financial Sector Deepening Trust and the Financial Sector Reform Programme, will be called upon to link with grass-roots microfinance institutions for improving rural financial services and products. The Bank of Tanzania will also be a partner in the formulation and implementation of policies and regulations in the area of financial services delivery. IFAD will continue to work in partnership with the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Marketing and the Ministry's parastatal Small Industries Development Organization on policy and implementation aspects related to markets and enterprise development. Other potential partners are the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation and the private agriculture sector support projects of the Government of Denmark and the United States Agency for International Development.
