IFAD partners in Madagascar IFAD works in close collaboration with the Government of Madagascar and development partners active in the country. It is a member of the Donors’ Group for Rural Development, Food Security and the Environment, which brings donors and international NGOs together. This group seeks to facilitate consultation and coordination between development partners and the Government, and coordinate and harmonize activities. IFAD also contributes to the funding of its operational arm, the Multi-Donors Secretariat, which promotes the sharing of information and the harmonization of approaches. Land tenure, the creation of the Agricultural Development Fund and agricultural service centres, and rural finance are the main spheres in which IFAD plays an active role in the Multi-Donors Secretariat. IFAD’s main partners are the European Union, the World Bank, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Millennium Challenge Account Madagascar, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (DDC), the French Agency for Development (AFD), the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF).
