IFAD partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina The international donor community has committed large sums to the reconstruction of Bosnia. IFAD works closely with partners to influence government policy in terms of reforming the business environment and creating institutions to support rural businesses, and ensure that women and men have equal opportunity to benefit from its interventions. IFAD country operations have been cofinanced with the International Development Association and the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Fund. The latter remains an important strategic partner in the country. Italy is providing grant funding of EUR3.0 million in support of establishment of a Facility for Farmers’ Access to Markets in the Balkan Area (FFAM), whose objective is to link primary producers to markets. These resources complement IFAD investments in the Livestock and Rural Finance Development Project to enhance market linkages in the dairy sector. Grants from the Government of Germany are also supporting women dairy producers’ associations, thereby supporting IFAD’s gender mainstreaming efforts in the country. Source: IFAD
